Delivery Boy and Tall Girl First Meeting
All this started with an introverted part-time food delivery guy, Itsuki, working in the countryside delivery service called Delivery Eater Right NOW, where he receives a food delivery order. He arrived at a delivery spot and rang the doorbell, thinking everything would go through as usual. He was surprised to see a girl stepping out, giving him scary vibes as she was a tall and intimidating woman. Tall was not the only property of this girl, but she was also muscular, broad at the shoulders, and she looked formidable. The delivery boy felt scared, as if he was cornered by that customer, and started shouting to leave me. Ughh!! I can’t breathe, and saying there are people around leaves me. Ugh!! And then the customer replied sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you; I am a big person, so when I walk around, I typically block others’ way. He then nervously handled over her order, hopped onto his bike, and pedalled away, wishing somebody else could do his delivery duties.
It was now Itsuki’s turn to calm down, so he pulled out his phone and watched his favorite YouTuber, Fuwari Chan, who played Minecraft while having a cheerful and timid personality. Her watching gave him peace. During her stream, her chat asked whether there was anything in real life that she wanted to get over. Fuwari Chan said she wanted to be able to conquer her social anxiety since she had interacted with most of the people online.
Itsuki was lost in the virtual world when his phone rang. It was the return call from that very intimidating girl. Pedalling his bicycle back to her place, he played some motivational videos to get himself in the mood. Feeling that it really was the end, ready to flee, he stood tall to his fears and found her waiting for him.
Is Tall Girl actually Fuwari Chan?
To his surprise, when she spoke, the voice was much like Fuwari Chan’s. She thanked him for his regular deliveries, and Itsuki suddenly realized that she was Fuwari Chan in real life. He was overwhelmed that his favourite YouTuber wasn’t some large man with a voice changer, and a connection was forming in him. After the delivery person left, Fuwari Chan felt relieved and nervous because she had not interacted with anyone for a long time. Despite her anxiety, she was genuinely glad to see the delivery boy’s consistent effort and wanted to thank him.
The next day, when Itsuki comes up and she steps out, he finds her staring at him; he gets scared and starts running and questioning himself if she is actually a Fuwari Chan or not. Suddenly, she grabs him, takes him close to her, and tells him that you’re not escaping from here. He starts picnicking, thinking that he is going to die now. But all his imagination turned out wrong. She grabs him and stares at him at the door because she wants to thank him. She struggles to talk to people, and even though she has yet to speak to anyone for so long, she does all her shipping online to avoid direct interactions. Also, she mentioned that Itsuki’s bright smile had given her the courage to speak with him.
Delivery Boy Becomes a Conversation Partner
After that, she asked him if he could spare some time talking to her, saying, “Will you be my conversation partner?” She also mentioned that she would pay him for his time. He agrees, and then they both decide on their next meeting.
She casually mentioned that the weather is hot, so can we both have tea inside? Excitement bubbled in her, and she thought she had cracked up on how to have conversations. She feels like a lively person again. She prepares to meet him and do the conversation, but when he reaches, she again thinks, “Can I start the conversation? All her prepared dialogues slipped from her memory. Fuwari Chan pulls out a lot of cash, and seeing this, Itsuki gets surprised and thinks, why is she holding so much money in her hands? She straightforwardly asked him how much she needed to pay him just for a conversation. He doesn’t feel comfortable because he thinks, why would someone pay this much just to get started a conversation? Politely, he refuses, explaining it’s not about the money. Fuwari Chan felt his discomfort and slowly closed the door, mentioning the apology as she didn’t mean to trouble him.
Itsuki Offered 10,000 Yen to Cheer Her Up
Back home, Itsuki watched up to Fuwari Chan’s stream, where her energy was low. She admitted that she might have angered someone and apologized. Itsuki touched and reassured her in chat that her clumsiness was cute and sent 10,000 Yen to cheer her up.
The following day, he came to bring her food again. This time, she asked him to leave the food at the door. However, he realized the fortunate position he was in and decided to explain his reasons for not accepting her money. He told her he sincerely wanted to help her without charging anything. Moved by his sincerity, Fuwari Chan opened the door and thanked him.
She asked him if he was now open to starting a conversation, and he agreed, and then they both went inside. Suddenly, Fuwari Chan slipped and fell over him, and he felt like she wanted to crush him, but she got up right away and apologized. At this time, he discovered a piece of paper and wondered what it was. However, Fuwari Chan panicked and stopped him from seeing the paper. Then she set up the food on her table, and he was surprised at how much she was eating. He asked if he could see that paper, and she mentioned that she did voice-over and those were her scripts. He gets excited because he knows her voice is so beautiful. Fuwari Chan becomes sad when she tells him she has no talent for voice-over and that people used to say things behind her back, calling her scary and big. After hearing all the comments, she realized that she should not be there.
He feels sorry for her and remembers the time when he used to be bullied by others. He truly understands her, and he expresses his love for her voice. He explained that whenever things got hard on him, he would start listening to her, mentioning that her voice had played a significant role in giving him confidence. After listing all this, Fuwari Chan starts blushing; she is unsure what facial expression she has to make and ends up creating an awkward face.
He asked what’s that face? Confused by this situation, Fuwari Chan pulled out her phone and started using it. On his cellphone, a notification pops up, and he finds out a huge tip that Fuwari Chan sent. He yelled at her and told her she didn’t have to pay him the money. She mentioned that it is a reward for him; she expressed how much he helped her, making it essential for her to give him a favour.
She accidentally spills her drink on his clothes and asks him to let her clean, but the stains are not coming off. She then asked him to take off his clothes, and she would wash them. He then asked her if they could become friends, but she mentioned she is not a lively person and does not feel okay going out and interacting with people. He invites her to go outside with him.
Fuwari Chan First Outing with Itsuki
Fuwari Chan started imagining herself in between the crowd, which scared and nervous her a lot. She said no, I cannot do this, but he got her in his confidence and told her that he would take her on a late-night walk, and they could start from there. He also mentioned that he will also be by her side anywhere and anytime. After thinking about it for a bit, she agrees to go out with him.
He smiles, and they both get out together. Suddenly, Fuwari Chan shouts, and he finds out it’s just a cat. When Fuwari Chan saw a person standing, she started sweating, and he mentioned to her that he was with her until she gained confidence, and they would move step by step. He will always be there until she overcomes her gears. Inspired by all his words, Fuwari Chan grabs his hand and decides to go beyond her limits and overcome all her challenges.
