Well, the answers to your questions are given in this inspiring story of her, where she proves that no matter how many times you fail, you should never stop trying!
Background of Umme Habiba Chhipa
Umme Habiba Chhipa belongs to a family living in Karachi, Pakistan. She is a sister to three siblings, two elder sisters, and a younger brother. She spent all of her childhood living in a joint family system, where education was not a priority, boys used to join their family businesses, and girls were wedded off early. Luckily, Habiba’s parents had a slightly different perspective, they were super supportive, they gave her the freedom to continue her studies, and to let her live the life the way she wants to live it. She completed her early education from a neighborhood school. However, she always wanted to go to a reputable school, but due to the condition of Karachi, her parents enrolled her into a nearby local school.
Failures Habiba faced
After her school ended, Habiba enrolled in high school, where she completed her FSC part one but unfortunately couldn’t clear the exams for part two. This was the first failure that she faced! She kept this thing to herself and reappeared in the exams, meanwhile she also enrolled herself into the university where she chose that she’ll be doing a bachelor’s in business administration. Later, the results were out of the re-exam that she gave, and she failed it again! She did not lose hope; in fact, she gave that exam again, and when it was her first semester’s final exam, the results were out again, and guess what? Habiba failed again! She accepted her fate, thinking that “everything happens for our own good.” Although she accepted her fate, this failure was slowly destroying her mental health, peace, and health, not knowing she was going into depression. After some time, she took a gap year, studied hard for two months straight, took exams again, and finally cleared it with flying colors. After clearing her exam, she finally started working on herself and on her mental health and slowly and gradually came back to life.
She was appointed as a teacher in one of the government schools of Karachi where she learned a lot. One thing that helped her to overcome that situation was her internship that she did in the citizenship foundation, where she taught poor kids for free. During that internship she realized that the life of those kids is 1000 times more difficult than hers, still they are grateful and not giving up. She found her problems comparatively smaller than those of the poor kids.
First step to her success
Habiba reactivated her social media handles, which she deactivated when she was going through rough phases of her life in order to stay away from peer pressure. As she reactivated her accounts, she wanted to make her profile public and share her everyday life on social media, but she was not allowed as it was not that common thing in her family, to post oneself publicly. After several tries, she finally convinced her parents that there’s nothing wrong in being a content creator. This is from where Habiba’s journey started as a content creator. She has now worked with hundreds of famous, reputable brands. Although she is doing good as a social media influencer, she is not ready yet to be a full-time content creator. As there are other things that she is focusing on in her life right now.
Habiba’s success
After her presence on social media, Habiba discovered various conferences, and this is where her life started to change. She came across a conference named international Youthopia in Pakistan, she applied for it and luckily, she was one of the few applicants out of 5000 applicants who were accepted for the conference. That conference was her first ever conference and she got to learn about so many things. She got to know how fast this world is innovating, and she got to know about SDG and all in those three days conference. Later, she attended another conference, which was arranged by the same group. She was super excited for that conference. She kept texting calling their staff to know more about the conference, seeing her passion and enthusiasm the CEO of that group, Talha Saleem, directly approached her and offered her to be the part of their team. This was the first time she faced success after so many years of struggle and hard work. She arranged plenty of conferences with the team. Along with that, she continued her studies, she enrolled herself at the University of Karachi, where she completed her bachelor’s degree privately. After some time, she was appointed as a social media manager for the same company with whom she used to arrange conferences, she managed literally everything from printing, emailing, messaging, inviting, and every other work that was required in her field for the company.
Habiba always had interest in TEDx, but she never knew how to start it. Her journey for TEDx properly started when she attended a TEDx event along with her friend, the event was organized by NED University and was named “TEDxNED university.” Usually, these events are private but luckily that particular one was open for common audiences too. She got to learn about so many different things in that event, especially about innovation and how people are doing a lot in their lives. The TEDx event was something that she always had seen on her screen but never thought that one day she’ll be attending it in her real life. After she attended her first ever TEDx event, she explored more about TEDx than how the events are organized, managed and much more. She wanted to organize a TEDx event by herself but whenever she used to visit the website, the complicated rules and regulations used to make her shut the web. She didn’t give up and after sometime she attended another TED event called TEDxAzaad, in that event she worked as the head Influencer. After the event was done she was asked to join the TEDxAzaad team officially as co-organizer by the head organizer. She agreed to it, and worked really hard for their first event called “TEDxAzadiStreet 1.0” although it was just an event but for Habiba it was her dream coming true, she worked day and night to make that event successful. The event was a big hit and opened new doors of opportunities for her. Later, Habiba herself applied for the license of the second TEDx event called TEDxAzadiStreet 2.0, she got the license and since then she is unstoppable she has been arranging TEDx events since then as she wants to normalize TEDx events in Pakistan. In February she’ll be arranging TEDxAzadiSreet 4.0 which will be a huge hit too.
Habiba has not stopped yet, she thinks that she has not yet achieved the purpose of her life and has to do so many other things. She has to serve society, her country, her parents, and even herself. She is surely an example for the people out there that no matter how many failures, hardships, or struggles you face, if you believe in yourself, then your hard work will definitely pay off.
